Luxury vinyl plank flooring
LVP
You probably have been hearing a lot more about LVP these days. LVP stands for Luxury Vinyl Plank. Vinyl flooring has come a long way since our grandparents’ rolled laminate floors that were popular in the 70s. In fact, today’s LVP is a highly engineered and durable product.
LVP gives the look of a wood plank but in a vinyl product. It’s comprised of several layers working together to create a resilient, low-maintenance flooring option. The bottom layer is a “backer board” made of a flexible PVC and it is glued directly to the subfloor with adhesive. The planks do not interlock or float like other types of plank flooring. You’ll want to make sure you choose the appropriate LVP for the use of your space. Some LVPs are thinner and are not as durable as other LVPs.

Hardwood flooring
Hardwood Flooring
Hardwood Flooring is made of solid wood and is finished in the stain of your choice after installation. It’s one of the most popular flooring options. It’s typically made of maple, oak, cherry, or walnut and can purchased in different plank widths depending on the look you are trying to achieve. Hardwood flooring has a longer lifespan for your home as you can sand and refinish it over and over again. Hardwood flooring installation involves nailing the wood planks to the subfloor, a project that requires an experienced team. Because of hardwood’s durability and the skill required to install, it’s typically the most expensive option.
Engineered Hardwood Flooring
Engineered hardwood flooring looks almost identical to regular hardwood flooring on the surface, but it’s made of a high-quality plywood core with a layer of hardwood flooring on top. It is either glued into place or has interlocking planks that make for easier installation than hardwood flooring. Engineered wood flooring is more affordable than hardwood flooring, but it can’t be refinished to extend its lifespan. It can still last up to 30 years or more with proper maintenance.
Tile

Tile flooring
Porcelain or ceramic tile flooring is a good option for high-traffic, moisture-prone areas of the home such as kitchens and bathrooms. Tile resists dirt, stains, moisture, and wear which is especially great in bathrooms.
By choosing tile for your flooring, you get a wider range of styles and colors. The options are limitless and you can have a lot of fun combining shapes, colors and installing fun patterns and layouts. We’ve even installed tile floors that look like wood! Installing tile floors, especially in a unique pattern such as a herringbone layout, requires an experienced installer.
There are many flooring options available to make your house your dream space! Installing the same flooring throughout your first floor, will make your space flow better and create the illusion that your space is larger. Having your spaces looking cohesive and consistent is especially important if you have an open floor plan. By having the same flooring throughout, you can create a unified feeling in your home by tying together all of the rooms. Contact us if you would like an estimate to update your home.
