Commercial Interior Project RotY Award: Transforming a Restaurant into a Modern Spa
Our first award-winning project demonstrates the remarkable transformation of a long-abandoned restaurant into Skin & Sugar, a bright, modern, and locally-owned spa in Gahanna. This remodel required a creative and thoughtful approach to breathe new life into the dated, dark space, turning it into a light and airy retreat for relaxation and wellness.
Key Features of the Project:
Reception Area:
- The former restaurant’s bar was repurposed into a stunning reception area.
- By refinishing the existing bar surface, we maintained some of the original character while incorporating a modern design.
- New flooring was added throughout, further enhancing the space’s welcoming aesthetic.
Six Treatment Rooms:
- Four treatment rooms were created on the lower level, with two additional rooms upstairs.
- Each room was designed to provide a soothing, private environment for guests, with extra insulation between walls to ensure sound dampening and comfort.
This project is a testament to the power of creative repurposing and thoughtful design. By embracing the client’s vision and addressing the functional needs of the space, we were able to deliver a transformative project that has become a new community landmark. Entire House Renovation RotY Award: A Modern Retreat with Added Space 
Our second RotY award-winning project highlights the stunning transformation of a small, outdated 1950s home into a spacious, modern retreat while preserving its original charm. This renovation included a 1,473-square-foot addition and a 268-square-foot garage, bringing the total square footage of this home from 1,008 to 2,749 square feet.
Key Features of the Project:
Expanded Living Space:
- A full master suite with a luxurious walk-in shower was added, along with two more bedrooms, creating a total of three bedrooms.
- The addition of a larger living room with vaulted ceilings created an open and airy atmosphere.
Upgraded Kitchen:
- The kitchen underwent a major overhaul, featuring custom cabinets, quartz countertops, and a large central island for both elegance and functionality.
Enhanced Basement:
- The original basement was expanded and deepened, providing functional space for a golf simulator—an essential feature for the homeowner.
Convenient First-Floor Laundry:
- The laundry room was relocated from the basement to the first floor, adding convenience for the homeowners.
New Two-Car Garage:
- A deteriorating one-car garage was replaced with a spacious two-car garage, positioned behind the home to allow for improved driveway access and a turnaround.
Exterior Improvements:
- The home’s exterior received a major facelift, including a new front porch, windows, exterior doors, fresh paint, and a new concrete driveway. These upgrades enhanced the home’s curb appeal, making it both modern and inviting.
