At Steller Construction, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of industry trends to bring the best to our clients. That’s why our team recently embarked on an exciting trip to the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, North America’s largest trade show dedicated to kitchen and bath design. Hosted in conjunction with the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), KBIS serves as an immersive platform showcasing the latest products, trends, and technologies from hundreds of exhibitors.

The Vibrant World of Color

One of the standout highlights at KBIS 2024 was the vibrant array of colors splashed across sinks, tiles, toilets, tubs, and appliances. From bold hues to soft pastels, color made a striking statement in kitchen and bath design, offering endless possibilities for adding personality and flair to spaces.

Illuminating Innovations

Lighting took center stage at KBIS, with innovative solutions transforming cabinetry, drawers, and even toe kicks in kitchens. We saw some beautiful lighting incorporated into kitchen islands which really help it take center stage. The incorporation of lighting not only enhanced functionality but also added a touch of ambiance and sophistication to kitchen spaces.

Embracing Curves: The Rise of Round Shapes

At KBIS, a notable trend emerged with a shift towards round shapes dominating kitchen design. From round islands adorned with curvy textures in wood or countertop materials to the absence of traditional rectangular islands, the emphasis on circularity was unmistakable. This departure from angularity not only adds visual interest but also fosters a sense of fluidity and movement within kitchen spaces. With round shapes reigning supreme, kitchens are evolving into dynamic and inviting hubs where creativity knows no bounds.

Enhanced Functionality in Fixtures

Attendees were treated to a variety of sprayer options for kitchen and bathroom fixtures, providing versatility and convenience in daily use. Additionally, statement lighting fixtures and creative shelving solutions, featuring a mix of metal and wood, caught the eye of our team, offering both style and practicality in kitchen design.

Innovative Features for Pet-Friendly Homes

KBIS also showcased the growing trend of pet-friendly design, with highlights including dedicated dog washes integrated seamlessly into bathrooms or laundry rooms. These thoughtful features cater to the needs of furry family members while maintaining the aesthetic and functionality of the space.

Elevated Tile Design

From textured surfaces to intricate patterns, tile stole the show at KBIS. Our team was particularly impressed by the stunning 3D tiles that were backlit, adding depth and visual interest to kitchen and bath spaces. Additionally, the variety of tile pattern options provided endless opportunities for creativity and customization in design.

Optimizing Storage with Cabinet Inserts

Finally, KBIS introduced us to a range of cabinet inserts designed to enhance functionality and organization in kitchens. From customizable drawer dividers to clever storage solutions, these inserts offer homeowners efficient ways to maximize space and keep essentials within easy reach.

At Steller Construction, our experience at KBIS 2024 has inspired us to incorporate these innovative trends into our future projects. We’re excited to bring the latest in kitchen and bath design to our clients, ensuring that their spaces are not only beautiful but also functional and tailored to their unique needs.
