Our design and sales team at Steller Construction loves to plan out bathroom remodels whether it be the home’s half bathroom or the master suite. Here are some top trends that our team is seeing in today’s marketplace. We want to help you create your next oasis in your home!
Mixed Metals:
Using various metals and finishes is on the rise. You can choose bronze cabinet pulls with gold fixtures or black faucets with bronze accents. Some manufacturers are now making mixed metal faucets where the top part of the faucet could be a brushed gold with the bottom portion a black matte.
Smart Showers:
Utilizing technology, you can take your shower to the next level. Intelligent showers can be programmed for each family member’s favorite shower head settings, water temperatures, shower length, and more. You can even control them with your voice, a mobile app or using your smart home device such as Alexa. Smart showers can be turned on and off remotely and you can be alerted when your water has reached your preferred temperature. This can save you money as you don’t waste water running as you wait to test the temp! Rain shower heads are also a popular and highly requested items when homeowners are remodeling their master bathrooms.
Shower Niches:
Built in niches in the shower allows for plenty of space for each family member’s bathroom products. A shower niche is a built-in shelf that’s recessed into the wall of the shower. It replaces the need for a caddy hanging from the showerhead or bottles sitting on the shower floor. It allows you to keep your shower looking clean and organized, and provides a more luxurious appearance. We’ve even added in fun tile designs to really make the space a design element!
Black Matte
While black is always a timeless color to use as an accent in your home, the trend of using black matte accents is picking up steam. It’s more popular to use it in the space with black matte faucets, but we’ve seen black matte tubs, tiles and more!
Freestanding tubs
Removing built-in tubs for freestanding tubs is still very popular. This frees up square footage to make showers larger and add more vanity space. A freestanding tub creates a beautiful spa-like setting. Pro tip: add a hand sprayer to make cleaning the tub easier!
Sconce Lighting
Wall-mounted light fixtures, also known as sconces, are a popular choice for bathroom vanities. They can be beautiful and highly functional, and generally they don’t take up a lot of space. You can even attach them on top of your mirror to create a custom look.
Wallpaper
Wallpaper is making a comeback. Use it on an accent wall or throughout a half bath to really make a statement with your guests.
When remodeling your home’s bathroom don’t forget to have fun! There are so many options and colors to choose from in tiles, fixtures and accessories so you can truly make the bathroom your special oasis after a long day! The team at Steller Construction has experience with many styles of bathroom remodels, so you can trust our team to give you a bathroom remodel that you’ll enjoy for years to come.
